Our team recently transformed the dining area of Paul Bakery Cafe at Takashimaya Shopping Center in Singapore through a carefully planned cafe wallpaper design approach that enhances both atmosphere and identity. Before this project, Honpo had also contributed to previous transformation within this F&B brand in different places, strengthening the overall interior consistency of the brand.
This well-known bakery cafe is loved for its warm European charm and relaxed dining experience, making it the perfect setting for an interior refresh. The transformation focused on creating a more inviting and visually memorable dining space where customers can enjoy pastries, coffee. and conversations in a refined environment.
Bringing The
Cafe Concept
To Life
Paul Bakery Cafe carries a classic European bakery concept that blends heritage, comfort, and everyday elegance. The interior direction highlights a welcoming ambiance where textures, patterns, and warm tones play an important role in shaping how customers experience the space. The goal was not only to beautify the dining area but also to strengthen the cafe's identity through visual storytelling.
Our team translated this concept into the interior by introducing design elements that feel timeless yet distinctive. The selected wallpaper design adds depth and character to the dining area, creating a feature that draws attention without overwhelming the space. The result is a cafe environment that feels more curated, comfortable, and visually engaging for guests who dine in.
In this restaurant project, our client chose to use Morris & Co Craftsman 216471 wallpaper. This wallpaper has intricate botanical patterns arranged in a flowing and rhythmic composition. The motif blends natural elements with classic decorative detailing, creating a wall surface that feels rich, layered, and visually engaging. The pattern carries a timeless character, making it suitable for cafe interiors that aim to feel warm, artistic, and welcoming.
Moreover, we also consider the color palette of this wallpaper which is balanced and elegant, allowing it to stand out without overpowering the outlet space. The detailing adds depth and texture to the walls, helping the interior feel more refined and thoughtfully styled. Within the cafe setting, this design supports a cozy dining atmosphere while reinforcing a classic European-inspired ambiance.
Before
Transformation
In this project, our client wanted to update one specific spot within the dining area of the outlet. Before the change, this wall featured the white plain wall with beige wainscoting and wood vinyl elements. While the materials were still in good condition, the overall look felt ordinary and lacked character, making the space less memorable for guests. The combination of finishes did not fully reflect the atmosphere the client wanted to achieve. So, our client wanted to transform with the design that could introduce a more classic and cozy mood.
After
Transformation
After the refresh, the restaurant’s interior was redefined using Morris & Co wallpaper. This wallpaper brings a more classic and welcome ambience to the space. Also, introduces a distinctive Arts & Crafts pattern with flowing botanical forms that create movement and character on the wall, inspired by a design originally created in 1876.
